A relatively simple build turned disastrous when it was discovered that the site boundaries were smaller than initially anticipated by the client. Furthermore, the soil was soft clay and a massive public drainage network ran underneath the site leading Thames Water to not grant build over permission. The client had lost hope in the build and saw his investment in the land as ruined.

Vector Structures were contracted to resolve this issue, the team worked around the clock to produce a structural scheme utilising steel bridging methods, large pad footings and other such techniques that would allow the weight of the building to pass over and around the public drains in multiple locations.

Eventually, permission was granted by Thames Water and building control for the building work to commence.
