Vector Structures was commissioned to design a large vertical first-floor extension over an existing bungalow. The contractor requested a design that maximised the use of timber while minimising steel components, as this project took place during the COVID-19 pandemic when steel availability was limited.
In response to this brief, Vector’s engineers successfully designed a comprehensive timber scheme for both the roof and the new first floor. This approach ensured a cost-effective and efficient construction process, particularly suited to the challenging circumstances of the time.
Additionally, our engineers provided on-site support to ensure the project was executed in accordance with the plans, delivering a successful outcome for the client and contractor.
